Storm-ID Bio
I am Maddog The Seventh, First Son of Ernest, a scion of the House of Douglas-- known to allies and enemies alike as Canis Insanus. I have conquered empires, I have destroyed or enslaved all who have opposed me, I am master of a thousand concubines who writhe at my feet, begging to bear my progeny ... ... I sit atop this lonely pinnacle, glaring down at the pitiful cowering humanity cringing below me, and yet ... try as I might, I cannot escape the horrid, insidious pull of this place: this last hellish bastion of resistance to the awesome power I command. I ... cannot ... ... Please ... ... Help ... ... Me ...

Mood: happyListening To: my teeth chatter ![]() Just thought I'm mention that I've managed to get another poem published. The literature department at one of our local colleges in going to include Summer by the Shore in its yearly anthology Poets and Writers. I'll be going to a reception and reading (mine's an honorable mention, so it won't be read, but that's perfectly fine with me) on May 2nd, where I'll meet the staff and other writers. This is all very gratifying, as my attempts to get anything published since the Cynic thing I spoke of in my previous journal have fallen short of success. I have to chuckle a little that Summer was chosen from the four pieces I submitted --- it's a perverse thing I wrote for fun one day when I was in a silly mood. I'd like to get a little preachy now about the reality of trying to get your work published. You know that old cliché about having your walls papered with rejection slips? That's true for every writer from budding beginners to best selling novelists, so please try not to make the mistake of taking rejections personally. Getting turned down doesn't necessarily mean that you're not a good writer, or that your work isn't up to snuff. Publishers, judges, whatever people are making the decisions are inundated with material, and if your Opus Magnificus isn't picked there's a good chance that you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time --- that your piece wasn't what they were looking for today. Believe in yourself, because if you're not going to do that you might as well just give it up right now. Stick out your chest, jut out your jaw, and boogie on in there like you own the place --- because you do! -M.Dog Read More Friends Webcam
